With an unshaken gaze, Eli watched in slight humour at the small feline's antics. Oh how he wished ot be purely an animal, so easily amused by the unlikeliest of things. To enjoy the simpler things in life would be such a bliss. Ignorance to these human-drawn emotions, morals, values... Oh it would be a sweet bliss indeed. In some sense, watching the feline capture the mouth beneath its paw, Eli yerned to be nothing more than a being without the blood of a dismal species running through his veins. Purely an animal and nothing more. Drawn away from the farfetched notion of being a pureblood, his aud perked as the wolf-blood spoke to the feline. Tumo, Yes he gathered that were the little one's name.

Eli cast his eyes to Koffi when the brute made a remark to what she'd said. Even though Eli agreed with the statement - the island could hardly be considered a home worth living on - he simply tossed of the words as unimportant and noted the softer tone used towards Koffi. It was when the brute turned to Eli and addressed his question that he began to take a more interested posture and expression. He was genuinely intrigued by what this brute's calling was.

"I'm Cusik. This is Tumo." The worfds finally emerged after a few ramblings Eli didn't take much note of. Cusik, as he was called, was large which only interested Eli slightly. Brawn was always a welcome sight, especially with the rising number of reblious folk he knew loomed about. Brawn would make better if it were on his side and not the rebels'. Eli bowed his head slightly to one side, a slight gesture of his hands, and made no hesitation to let out a fluent, "Pleasure to meet you."

"What kind of business, ... ?" It had seemed Eli's words had caught someone's attention. Eli rose an eyebrow, much in the same manner that Cusik had in questioning, though his own gesture was purely out of intrigue that he seemed.. interested in knowing more. Eli stood, upright and attentive having the most proifessional and business-like stance about him, folding his arms loosely across his abs but not tightly as to appear pensive and protective of what info he held. He was calm, relaxed eve, and stood with a certain charm.

"Well, Cusik..." He looked from the large brute to his smaller companion and added, ".. And Tumo," Returning his eyes back to the wolf-blood, "Firstly, it'd be rude of me to not first say, I am Boss. By both name and profession. Yes, I've my own business, but what we do is hardly the concern of yours." He spoke with a rapid tongue, but even when his final words could be interpretted as an insult, they were saidwith a sly tone of voice insinuating it was a business not to be flaunted in public eyes. He had implied it was a business of secrecy. "Why does thee, pray tell, inquire of my business? Looking for work, perhaps?"

Cusik thought, at first, that he had struck a nerve in asking about the business. The 'man' stood up straighter and folded his arms, though loosely. Cusik's jaw tensed, and his brow fell back to normal position. He wasn't sure if he had mentioned something too boldly for this fellow.

"Well, Cusik... And Tumo." The feline-blood's voice was laced thickly with a sly charm that Cusik wasn't expecting. Tumo sat up straight at the mention of his name, gold eyes bright. "Firstly, it'd be rude of me to not first say, I am Boss. By both name and profession." Cusik gave a slow nod in greeting, and Tumo meowed quietly up at his kin-blood. "Yes, I've my own business, but what we do is hardly the concern of yours." Again the words of this chimera piqued his curiosity. The words even went as far as to make Tumo tilt his head in intrigue. Seems they were both wondering about the guy's secret, 'hush-hush' life.

"Why does thee, pray tell, inquire of my business? Looking for work, perhaps?" Cusik folded his arms across his chest, crossing one of his legs behind the other as he leaned. His face held seriousness yet charm towards Boss. Tumo's lengthy tail swished on the grassy ground. "I may be." He stated simply at first. His forehead wrinkled a moment in thought, and then it relaxed. "Not necessarily in the need of human money. More in the need of information, connections." His brown eyes almost seemed to darken with the solemnness of his next words. "In need of a place where I know the people won't so readily stab me in the back. Trust, Boss, is very valuable to me."

Eli glanced to the petite feline as he cocked his head to the side curiousily. Eli simply smirked before bringing his eyes back onto Cusik when the brute spoke. "I may be" Eli rose his chin slightly, in his own curiousity as to what Cusik ment. May. What would pursway this large brute to give a definitve yes or no answer, he pondered briefly before Cusik continued further. Listening to each word with great attention, Eli followe dup Cusik's words with a simple nod.

"Well, I don't pay my employees in human money, or money of any sort, I pay them in security." Eli spoke affirmatively, giving an assuring nod. "When you work for me, you are untouchable." He gave a felicitous response, a slight charming smile on his features. "Protection, information, connections. Anyone working for me has everything they'll ever need at their disposal." he breathed in a deep breath of the night's air, pulling his eyes away from all those around him and looking up tot he sky through a few branches above him. Keeping his eyes upward he continued a final few words. "We're built on trust, m'friend. To stab someone in the back in my business would be a death-wish." His final sentence was spoken with a certain malice, yet seriousness.

"I'm always looking for new employees, but once you are in my business, there's no leaving, so any choice you make must be final..." Any charm had vanished in these words. He returned his eyes to Cusik with a hollow gaze in his blue-greys, a sign of how serious he was with his words.

"Well, I don't pay my employees in human money, or money of any sort, I pay them in security. When you work for me, you are untouchable." Seems like this guy had a pretty reputable business, to offer his employees such an extraordinary promise. "Protection, information, connections. Anyone working for me has everything they'll ever need at their disposal." Cusik's auds pricked forward, but his expression did not show any desperation for information. His dark eyes glanced upward for a moment as Boss's gaze tilted to the night sky. "We're built on trust, m'friend. To stab someone in the back in my business would be a death-wish." Cusik felt the seriousness in Boss's voice, knowing full well they were not a group to screw over. Atleast if he were to join, he would have that promise.

Boss's final words, though harsh, were barely surprising. "I'm always looking for new employees, but once you are in my business, there's no leaving, so any choice you make must be final..." Sure it was a huge oath to take on, but to Cusik, it was nothing. After all, most of the humans he ever knew would tell him there was no abandoning the fighting business; while he doesn't fight, Cusik himself knows the urge to fight, to kill. His deep gaze met Boss's solemn one. His maw parted, as if to speak, but the of his leg fur by tiny claws made him hesitate. He looked down at Tumo. "Are you sure, Cusik?" the cat murmured under his breath. "Will the little information that leads you to him be worth it?"

Cusik's gaze lifted and looked out over the lake. His eyes glazed slightly, and he again parted his lips. "Boss, he started, his voice deep and clear, "what are the requirements for this employment?" Brown eyes turned to the feline-chimera. "What do I need to do?"

When Cusik broke the steady gaze to look down to Tumo, Eli's eyes followed and settled on the elaborate spotting of the small feline companion. His stare was irrate, barely so, but noteable. He prefered felines to anything, especially canines, but he hated when purebloods interfered with his conversations.. Especially conversations concerning his line of work, his business. With a furrowed brow, he pushed himself forward, standing at ease with his legs ajarred and his arms folding across his chest patiently, listening to Tumo's words.

It didn't bother him that these two had doubts. he'd given barely enough information as to what they'd be getting into yet enough to let them know the benefits. He'd not inquired of the downsides - of which Eli seen as more of challenges than downsides - so he felt no need to say more than inquired. At least, not yet. Not until it was needed.

He watched Cusik's eyes trailed away after Tumo's words fell quiet on the night. Without moving his stance, he peered out across the lake out of the corner of his eye. Eyes quickly darted back to Cusik awaiting a response, or inquiry, as patiently as he could manage. Though someone inclined to being impatient, being that he was talking of business on his once-relaxed vacation, he showed none of this intolerance in his expression or stance. The words finally broke the litho and Eli held an answer just as quickly as he heard them.

"There are five indisputable things I require of any employee of mine...." He pulled one hand away from his frame holding up a loose fist ajacent to his body. "One. Loyalty and respect is to be shown to me and your superiors, regardless." He rose his index finger in count. "Two. Never disobey me. If I say something, it is to be followed." He rose his middle finger along side the index. "Three. If you have a problem with someone.. anyone.. it's to go through me before ever being delt with. Chances are, I won't care and will allow you to do as you wish with them." He rose his ring finger. "Four. Never, ever, put a human's life above an animal-blood's.. Ever." He rose his pinky finger, now holding only his thumb folded inward to his palm. "Last, and most important, Five." His thumb slowly rose completely his fully open hand. "Never speak a word of this business to anyone except those who are pledged to the business."

He paused and withdrew hsi eyes form those around him, returning them on the starry complextion above him. Facinating was the sky. It was rare he seen the sky, living most of his current life beneath the city's surface. "All I expect besides that," He folded his hand back into a loose fist and let it fall to his side. "Is you complete a few simple tasks for me. Think of us as law enforcementy. Someone breaks a law, you deal with them." He sighed and brought his grey-blue eyes to the wolf-blood. "What you do with your time otherwise is entirely up to you." He looked to his companion before back to him.

"Cusik, I can promise you, you won't be disappointed."

((OOC. A fairly long post. Koffi, not sure if you are still kicking about, but feel free to jump in and perhaps inquire about the business herself, or what ever is suiting :).))

Koffi had been sitting patiently, just listening to them. Sometimes it paid off to blend in, more so in silence rather then in colour. Shifting just slightly in her spot, she was curious. Whatever business Boss had, it was serious. More then likely death was involved, but she wouldn't be surprised. He seemed sort of solitary, rather then social to her. If he relied on trust, and with the people you would meet today, that said something.

"Does that include me? The business part, I mean,"

She piped up, looking almost amused. She was just referring to whether or not she should mention that this happened, but she realized it could give off the wrong impression. The law enforcement bit intrigued her, as she relied on society, well, the island here, being orderly in order to live here peacefully. If he was the one controlling that, she wouldn't want to bother him. She felt some regret in speaking up, but it might be worth it.

eek. I figured I would make a post in before I leave, heh.

Tumo's golden eyes flickered in the moonlight as watching Boss. Agitated much? he thought, flicking his tail, matching the impatience of the upright. When the man-cat responded to Cusik, though, all signs of annoyance faded away, lapsing into intrigue.

Cusik's eyes, too, were intent on the feline-chimera. He watched the man's movements, the extending of the digits. Precise, he thought. And a man who knows what he wants, knows what's expected of others... His ear twitched, shooing away a bug, but other than that, his massive form remained still. While he couldn't deny this man's right to do business how he wished, Cusik was uneasy about the complete, unconditional obediance. He felt, however, that this chimera's words were good enough to be kept-- allowing him comfort in knowing he wouldn't be expected to do anything ridiculous unless deserved.

"All I expect besides that," Boss finished, "Is you complete a few simple tasks for me. Think of us as law enforcement. Someone breaks a law, you deal with them." A deep chuckle escaped Cusik's maw. He needed something to do with his time, and this seemed perfect. "What you do with your time otherwise is entirely up to you." He nodded to Boss, acknowledging that he understood. Tumo, not really liking the guy yet, narrowed his eyes as they met Boss's.

"Cusik, I can promise you, you won't be disappointed." He grinned, a canine poking out slighting. "I'm sure I won't be," he replied back, still smirking. He pushed off the tree with his elbow, setting himself back on his own two feet. The little cat, as if had taken a cue, climbed quickly up the pine and onto the shoulder of his large companion. "When can I start?" Cusik boomed, holding back a laugh. As if this was some casual, ordinary human job.

Eli's eyes shifted to the canine Koffi when her voice broke against the conversation between the two brutes. He shrugged his shoulders and shifted his form so his shoulders were parallel to where she sat. "Of course, if you are interested. I am sure there is a place for you amongst my business. Always a place."

His attention shifted to Cusik and he smiled. when he assured and agreed he would not be disappointed. Upon inquiring of when to start, Eli's grin grew to a satisfied stupour and he straightened his posture once again inot his typical business presentation. "Immediately." A malice dripped onto his features in a manner that suggestion pure elation that the brute agreed to be in business with him.

"We go, to Madru, and I will fill you in." He said, the grin falling from his chizelled features as swift as the words fell from his mouth. He shifted on his feet before spinning his body 45 degrees facing some unmarked direction that he knew, by pure memory, was the direction they'd need to travel to make it to Madru before the sun reached it's highest point. Having the sun already starting to rise and break apart the navy canvas of the night sky, he wanted to make way to Madruy as quick as the lot of them could.

"We'll get there by noon." he assured turning to Koffi, "If you wish to partake, and you agree to what I have explained to Cusik here, then please feel free to follow us to the depths of Madru." He nodded once to enforce his words then began to walk with a certain grace that only a feline could conquer, swiftly making his way through the trees within the forest with no effort it would see.

* Eli has left for Madru*
