Sasha - chimera; Strider - animal (Legaleen)
« Thread Started on Jul 11, 2008, 11:25pm »

Reason for renovations, well, long story short I was nothing but an idiot to think I could play Sasha, who I have been playing for about two years now, without his horse. Strider is basically a part of Sasha and is the reason for a lot of his personality and some of his way of logic. It's been causing a large lack of muse, which I finally got tired of. Gen knows more of the reason and I’m a little too lazy to actually write it out again lol.

Name: Alexander “Sasha” David Cole Jr.
Age: 21 years
Gender: Male
Animal Gene: ~30% Canine (~20% Dutch Shepherd, ~3% Bloodhound, ~7% Gray Wolf)
~70% Human (50% French)
Skin Colour: Healthy Golden Tan
Hair Colour: Brown
Eye Colour: Slate Blue
[b]Height/Weight: 5’11”/ 175 lbs
Animal or Human Stance: human
Animal features: Physical
    *Elongated canine teeth (all species)
*Brindled markings (simply darker skin) on forearms, hands, shins, feet and very slightly on temples (Dutch Shepherd)
*Canine muscle structure to increase speed and stamina (all species)
*Canine-like vocal chords, making it possible to bark, howl, growl ect.(all species)

Non-Physical
*Drastically increased number of smell receptors, causing an extremely heightened sense of smell (bloodhound)
*Heightened need to be loyal and protective (Dutch Shepherd)
*Heightened sense on hearing, especially to high pitched noises (all species)
*Slightly slowed metabolism, making it so eating daily isn’t a necessity (gray wolf)
*Able to speak in both human and animal tongues (all species)
*Possibly shortened life expectancy (All species) (seemed to mature quickly, but never has seen someone with his gene pool die a natural death)

Physical Description: How does one describe Sasha? When hearing his name, or better yet alias, people obviously assume him to be much different from what he really is, but once you get into the right mind set he could fit his title quite well. His appearance very seldom changes, just being one not to fight with it too much, so if you see him once you’ll remember him the next time you lay eyes upon his form.

The basic build is simply muscular. He has enough muscle upon his flesh for people to think he seriously works on it, but that is a complete lie. All of his habits just make him do things the hard way, and it keeps him looking the way he is. Arms, legs, abs, he’s just strong in appearance, which isn’t a lie. Sasha is not someone you want to get hit by, it hurts and will usually end someone on the ground. Not, some may say he could look bulky with his strength, which is a down right lie. In reality, he is one of the most agile people out there. This, of course, came with practice, but it is now true and it’s not like he has the build of a body builder or wrestler, just maybe of someone in the military for a few years time. With all of this muscle and a height of about 5’11” it is obvious even a silhouette of his frame is something that you would have good reason to be fearful of him, though it doesn’t really bother him at all.

In actuality, Sasha’s muscle overpowers any fat that he has on his body, which is very little to say the least. The only thing that keeps him at a considerably healthy weight, which is about 160 to 180, for he isn’t one to check, is that his lack of fat is made up for in the heavier muscle. He does not intentionally do this, nor is his metabolism anything way out there, it just happens. He doesn’t eat as much as he probably should, since time isn’t something he has a luxury of, and that is probably the reason when it boils down. In complete reality, Sasha hates this fact, for it does make him tired and weak after a day of stressful physical work.

Beyond his build he still isn’t someone you really want to mess with. His eyes are a very deep, yet dull slate blue, some may say gray, depending on his clothes. Getting a glare from his can usually cause everyone to look down and quickly do as they were told. He holds a threatening look when not trying, but it’s seriously much worse when he is. It’s a threat that can appear to be something more deadly and frightening, something that’s no longer a threat but a promise. Knowing this, it is something he uses often just to get his way.

His eyes also almost always hold a nearly exhausted look. With dark sags under them and his lids pulling at least halfway over the orbs he looks like he could usually fall asleep where he stood, which also isn’t a lie. His eyes are red from lack of sleep most of the time and though he holds himself still with a very proud and intimidating when you actually look at him something is obviously wrong. I guess it’s a good thing most don’t bother to take too good of look, huh?

Sasha’s skin is nothing overly special when seen as a whole. If he were female they would say it glowed, but as he’s not its just nice. It has a deep golden tan from long days outside in the blazing sun and heat. If it was not tanned he would probably be very pale, since both of his parents are from northern countries in their ancestry. Nothing much to really say about the basics of the flesh I guess.

Hair, what can you say about his hair? Well, to start it’s obviously completely unmanageable. Though he hardly cares he does have very little control over what the locks do. The messy look doesn’t work for some, but it really does when seeing Sasha. It just add to his rugged, “tough guy” appearance that catches many-a-girl’s eyes. Even just after their cut the locks manage to find a way to fall into his eyes and obscure his vision and when he’s tired of this he’s known to pull a red bandana into his head, usually something cleaned, but still stained with blood. The hue of his mob is somewhat sandy in color, like a light dirty blonde. It’s almost hard to explain, but just think of the sand on a yellow beach and that’s about it.

Everything else about him, his nose, lips whatever is just pretty much normal. Sure, he has his variations, but he’s nothing to stare at when it comes to his basic body type. Something most people do seem to notice is that he almost never smiles. Smirk, sure, smile rarely. His eyes don’t light up as most people’s do and he appears very cold, for good reason, but cold nonetheless. Most girls actually seem to find him hot in someway, which he really doesn’t see but it’s hardly his call. Girls seem to be going more and more for that bad boy look, and Sasha certainly has it. Though not all girls find it attractive many do, well, most do it so seems. He’s not going to complain to say the least.

Sasha has very few visible animal marks on him, the most prominent being a darker pigment of skin on his forearms, hands, lower legs and feet. He also has very slight markings of him temples, but these are not something you would see unless you were looking very closely. He also has elongated canine teeth, which go unused for all practical purposes. He mostly uses them for intimidation if need be.

Flaws, well everyone has them, and Sasha is no different, in fact, he could be the poster boy for flaws at times, though they are all in the eyes of the beholder. His otherwise wonderful skin is absolutely covered in scars. Naming all of these will take quite a bit of time, but the most noticeable include a gunshot wound in his right thigh, one which he nearly bled to death with, a knife wound in the back of his left shoulder, which actually hurt the muscle and tendon and can now bother him after he works it really hard. You can see that he has a scar running along the vein that moves down everyone’s arm, which is from it bursting long ago. He also has many other gunshot and stab wounds, but those you’ll just have to ask about. Other flaws, in some eyes, have already been spoken of. His cold and tired look to his muscle over powering him, though most seem to like that much. It’s just how you see him really, but most people judge him on the tough guy appearance into whether they like him or not.

Just looking at Sasha all together the best way to describe him is as someone who you don’t want to mess with. He seriously does give off the impression that he would carry a concealed weapon with him, but only on purpose when it boils down. Better to make people leave you alone.

Personality: People say that girls are complicated, but being around Sasha for only two days and thoughts and opinions may be switched around more quickly than you could blink. If there is one person in this world that is complicated it’s Sasha Cole. Most people can never really fully understand him, and sadly enough that includes himself. He often has no clue why he’s thinking the way he is or why he’s nice to some people and a complete jerk to others. His mind is just a little out there in the way he thinks, but to him it’s completely normal, but he’s the only one who actually has enough common sense to think in a way that could actually save your life.

One of the most important things to understand about Sasha is that he has a short fuse. It’s a rare day when his temper is completely in his control, in fact, there hasn’t been such a day in years. He always has a string taunt where one wrong word could cause him to snap in two. He will try, he always tries, but over the years he is starting to wonder why. Deep breaths or counting backwards from ten or any of that other hocus pocus nonsense people suggest has never worked, and that is not for lack of trying. It is seriously just something he can’t control, and probably one of his biggest faults.

Now, what actually happens when he losses his temper? Well, depends on who you are really. A friend, a guy, a girl, it seriously does just depend. A friend he’ll most likely ran to, maybe push or “throw” but nothing serious. If you’re female, you also don’t have to worry too much. He’ll yell, definitely, and he’ll threaten, grab or whatever, but the only injury you’ll walk out with is a hand shaped bruise or a bump from hitting your head against the wall he threw you up against, but if you’re a guy just watch out. To other males Sasha is in no way scared to use his fist to get his point across. A firm punch across the face is only the starting point most of the time, unless he does manage to stop himself and just walk away, but you do not want to get into a full out fist fight with the guy, he has yet to lose.

If you haven’t been able to tell thus far, Sasha is a very angry individual. Some may call him just a young man that is simply upset with the world and tired of life, and on a few accounts you may be right, but in some you’re just wrong. He’s tired of life, yes, but not in the way most people seem to think. He’s just tired of being forced to live in a way other people want him to. Currently he’s on probation so has to bend over backwards to obey all those rules and before hand he had to do the same for his father. Now he just wants to live how he sees fit, but is having plenty of trouble with that. Now, being upset with the world? Definitely. Sasha is twisted about everything when it comes down to it. With everything that’s happened to him though, you can’t blame his way of thinking all too much anymore.

Aside from his temper, Sasha still isn’t really the nicest person you will ever meet. Even he won’t deny that he’s rude and can be a bit of a jerk, especially to the people he doesn’t like, or doesn’t have a reason to like. Some may call him shallow, and, well yeah, it’s probably true. He judges you from the moment his eyes catch your flesh, but he will always change his thoughts if you can prove something different while you’re still giving him a first impression, but after that it take a miracle to change his opinion. He is all about first impressions and if he doesn’t get a good one, then you are forever and for-always on his bad side, so good luck with that.

Something else you may want to know, or something you may find out very quickly, is that Sasha is quit prone to mood-swings. This is usually the result of losing his temper, snapping then quickly realizing it and getting himself back under control. To some it just seems like he doesn’t know how he wants to react, but that’s a lie. If this is happening, he wants to snap, yell, hit, whatever works in the situation, but he knows he shouldn’t. That’s not to say he always knows what he would like to do, for that is also a lie, he just prefers to give off an angry face.

Why some ask, well the answer is very simple. He loves being feared. Some don’t believe him, but it’s the simple and sad truth. Having people run from him or just duck their head from his glare gives him a sense of power that he will never deny. Power was something he never had in the past, so how he milks the feeling for all it’s worth. If he ever actually is in a position of power he won’t take advantage of that, for he hates it and he is no hypocrite. His father would always take advantage of the power over his son, and now Sasha refuses to turn out like him, for obvious reasons.

So far this has been Sasha on a normal or bad day, but what about when he’s in a good mood? Well, he seems quite different then. He’s in no way all smiles and sunshine, but he is calmer, nicer. Instead of ignoring a kind deed he may be able to make himself say thank you or maybe even do something kind himself. On days like this he always has the feeling that he is going soft, and he doesn’t like that at all. He likes the tough guy look, and especially when he’s like this around people he just meets, only because if he ever sees them again they’ll be shocked to meet the real Sasha.

Something most people don’t see in Sasha, but do notice after a little bit of time with him. Sasha has a mild case of OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder. Things have to be put in it’s perfect spot and a bed has to be made to his standards. He’s not as bad as some and can hold up a conversation if something is out of place a little ways away, but it is more difficult. Unlike some, things such as pictures can be crooked and not bother him at all, but a room must not be messy. He is probably one of the very few teenage guys who live alone and have a perfectly clean apartment.

Hmm, what else is there to say really? Uh, so girls I guess is something I should touch on. As stated before, Sasha can be shallow and that includes with females. He knows what he likes and he knows what he doesn’t. Any girl who covers themselves in make-up or wears clothes that require no imagination make him lose all respect he may have for them, for it is completely obvious they have no respect for themselves. He will also never chase a girl, period. He likes his occasional fun night, but he’s not really looking for a relationship. Why fight so hard when it won’t last?

Yes, Sasha doesn’t believe in love, hasn’t for years. To him it’s ridicules to think someone can care for someone else as much as they say they do. If you want to get through life it’s best to just figure it out quickly, you need to take care of yourself, and trust no one else to. No one else will care for you; can care for you, especially in such a strong way as the word love actually applies. This, though, can be seen as a hypocritical statement when you hear about how he treats his friends.

Sasha is very loyal to his friends, but getting such a status is nearly impossible. He has his group, all living back where he used to live, and that’s pretty much what it’s staying as. These are the only people he trusts, including with his life for many of them have saved his before, just as he had done for them. They’ve gotten themselves in some amount of trouble, but they can always trust each other to help them out. See, hypocritical huh?

Well, all in all, Sasha may not be the nicest person you’ll ever meet, and he’s not going to bother denying it. His morals and beliefs are messed up, though that he doesn’t see, and he just sees things differently. Since he doesn’t care what others think of him, at all, he just tries his best to live life how he wants to live it, but does have problems with that, for he’s a wild one and living life how he wants may just put others in danger. No matter what it seems, when it boils down the guy is a gang member and will do anything for that tight group, which is probably what makes everyone outside of it in need of caution.

History: A well respected man and an active voice against chimeras lost most, if not all, face when he was accused to being the father to a young chimera. This man hardly denied the claims, but at the same time he never fully embraced them, but once the child was born just looking at father and son together made it impossible to deny any longer. Young Alexander was then named after his father and soon the man was off in the wind, away from all the people around him who may want the bastard child dead. “Alex” as he was called to avoid too much confusion, then grew up in a mixture of human and chimera life. His father moved to a different human village and Kaylee, the child’s mother, hid her animal features more often than not to live with Alexander and her child.

As a child Alex’s own animalistic tendencies weren’t very prominent. They first realized that he was going to have a decent amount of animal characteristics when he began to teethe, his canine teeth being sharp and fang-like. What the parents decided to do was do what they could to hide his chimera state from everyone, as his mother was already doing. Slowly as he grew everything became harder to hide, and over time he got tired of hiding it. He never quite understood why he had to hide what he was. Over time his parents realized that he wasn’t safe in the human village so soon left with him to live in Chimera territory. The only down side to all of this, Alexander was soon sickened by the fact that his child was in fact, a chimera.

Alex was ten when he really noticed his father trying to suppress any animalistic behaviors in both himself and his mother. He never really understood it and it was also quite difficult to suppress some of them. In time, not two years later, Alex found his father being abusive. Though Alexander had never laid a mean hand on his mother Alex had become a human punching bag from time to time, whenever his father was angry. After two years of this Sasha found himself being simply tired of it and, though his just planned on it being for the day, he left.

This is when Alex found another small group of chimeras when he was exploring Madru, all with somewhat similar stories to his own. The group was basically the equivalent to a human gang and it wasn’t long before Alex realized that they weren’t the only group and had plenty of competition for land. After very little time to explaining Alex was accepted into the group and it wasn’t much longer before “Alex” became “Sasha.” From some time past he had known the name to have been a nickname once, and still sometimes, used for Alexander. Still, upon going back home the newly called Sasha was still the target of his father’s anger and still, for whatever reason, put up with it. Every day now, though, he would go and see his tight group of friends. Within these groups Sasha began to do a lot of different things that as a young child he never would dream of doing, but now he was just looking for a way to rebel against his father. Fighting, which his father had taught him from the moment he could stand, in the form of martial arts with anyone and everyone was just a tip of the iceberg, but the most noticeable change in him was his sudden use, and soon independence on many different forms of drugs. The fights he managed to get himself into was the cause of most, if not all the scars he has on his body now.

These changes only made Sasha’s father more and more angry, but soon that didn’t seem to matter too much anymore. Soon Sasha found himself caught by humans and brought back to human village to be used as a slave. This was only possible thanks to tranquilizers. Upon awaking Sasha felt weak and fatigued. He was nearly fully dependent of drugs at this point in time and the withdrawal he was going through already was horrible. He found himself shaking, feeling cold even though it was summer in an unair-conditioned holding facility, throwing up and otherwise feeling awful, and of course his human captors felt no sympathy for the poor chimera they had caught, who was only seventeen years of age at the time. It took Sasha a good month, feeling as if he was going to die every day of it, before he was finally able to live once again. Over this time he hadn’t been eating much and had also lost a lot of the strength he had before he had been captured. To be able to sell him they had to get him looking back up to par again.

After another six months Sasha almost had the exact body he had when he was captured and they went about trying to sell him. It didn’t take an idiot to realize that it wasn’t going to be easy. Sasha’s pain tolerance was incredible and no matter how much they tried to get him to listen he was still completely incontrollable. After another year of trying to sell him they finally did, to a man who was fully convinced he could teach the young chimera manners. Needless to say, this never happened. Sasha would snarl growl, bite, lunge and do everything he could do to and about three months after he had been bought he escaped and before his ‘owner’ knew what happened, except for a very badly bleeding arm which was missing flesh from a bite, he was finally gone, and took a souvenir.

As Sasha was leaving his “owner’s” land a horse, which was used as a pack animal, or was going to be, leaned his head over the gate and spoke in a language Sasha hardly remembered. He hadn’t been spoken to in an animal language for two years and right away it sounded like nothing but a mess of sounds. Sasha stopped long enough to question the animal, which he finally understood what was being asked of him. He couldn’t help but look to the horse with a confused look on his face. He had heard some bad things about this stallion, often times the man cursing its very existence with a new limp or cut or bruise. The animal was dangerous, but as it had been with him the man had been determined to train it and beat out all of its bad habits. With this knowledge Sasha allowed the horse his wish, and opened the gate to the pasture in which the stallion was being kept.

Sasha had expected that to be the last contact he had with the animal and they would go their separate ways, but the horse immediately followed him. Still, Sasha just ignored the whole idea; he was in too big of a hurry to get out of the area. Over time, though, he realized the horse continued to be within a day’s travel of him and he finally got annoyed and had to ask what was going on here. Sasha didn’t think he had ever even seen a horse in his life, but that isn’t to say he hasn’t since all the drugs he did do has messed with his memory, but he wasn’t exactly fond of them, to say the least. His goal was to be left alone, but that wasn’t to happen either. It took about a month of being followed and random talks between the two before Sasha finally just accepted that the horse wasn’t going to leave him alone and soon grew to like the animal more than he really thought that he should.

It took a while for a name to be decided on between the two. Strider, at the time, had been called Westie, but that was something Sasha refused to use, especially if the man who thought he could use both of them as slaves had given his new companion the name. Though if you asked him now Sasha couldn’t tell you how the name came to be, Strider was decided on over time.

Sasha had often questioned riding within the first month they were free. Though he could run fast it had been proven multiple times that Strider was much faster but Strider didn’t even have to say anything before Sasha would just shake his head and walk away. He had been told about Strider’s path and he had the idea that pushing a 2000 pound animal may be a bad idea. After that time, though, the idea was given a go. For the first couple of months conversations between the two didn’t go well. “You’re kicking me in the flank,” “What’s a flank?” or “You can’t change directions that quickly,” usually Sasha was on the ground at this point. It was interesting; to say the least, but after not much time Sasha became a very good rider. After all, who better teach one to ride then a horse?

Now, though Sasha will never admit it out loud, he is very connected to Strider. He is usually found walking instead of riding, but the two are always within a certain distance of each other and protective hardly describes how Sasha feels towards the animal. Sasha does find Strider’s clingy nature annoying (probably the understatement of the century there), but after hearing the animal’s past isn’t sure he can blame him too much, and Strider is still fairly young. Now, though, Sasha has a goal in life, a certain vendetta if you will, and he’d be damned if anything could possibly come in the way of that.

Name: Registered as “Upper West Side”
Called Strider
Age: 6 years
Gender: Stallion
Species: Horse (¾ Percheron ¼ Thoroughbred)
Coat Colour: Black
Eye Colour: Brown
Markings: None
Physical Description: Strider is nothing but a large horse all around. At 17.2 hands (70 inches, 5’ 10”) at the withers the stallion is almost as tall as Sasha just at the back. If Strider would put his head high his nose would be a good foot and a half above an averaged sized man’s head. A majority of his blood being that of a percheron, a large draft horse, Strider is made of all muscle. His shoulders and hindquarters ripple under his coat with every movement. The stallion’s neck is think and broad, as is his back. This makes it somewhat easy for Sasha to stand on his back if the need ever arises, though it rarely seems to.

Strider is solid black in color with no white markings. The coat is normally pretty clean, but even when it isn’t it’s hard to tell because of the dark color he possesses. His tail is long and thick, nearly touching the ground and is also black in color. The stallion’s mane hangs past the end of his neck on the more common right side. The mane thins out as it lengthens, but is fairly thick at his crest. As part percheron Strider also has long feathering on his lower legs, which drags on the ground, though not as much as the feathering of, say, a Clydesdale.

As Strider is fairly young, but full grown, he isn’t yet showing any signs of age. Two years ago he was taken off grain completely and is still holding his weight very well. As is common for a percheron, his barrel is low, but about even with his girth. His back dips only very slightly from his withers before rising back up to the top of his croup, then falling steeply towards his tail. Strider stands with his legs slightly inward and is a little heavy on his forehand, but his neck is straight from his pole to his withers.

Personality: Though he looks like a percheron, Strider has always had the personality of a thoroughbred. Such a large horse is usually stereotyped as being calm, but you would be very wrong if you would think such a thing in this case. From the start Strider has been high strung and hard to control. He doesn’t have the ‘urge to please’ some horses do and is downright stubborn when it comes to training. He doesn’t spend time trying to understand what is wanted of him and if he even thinks he can get away with something he is all for trying.

This personality only made him worse after he had been abused badly. He has never liked humans, never linked them with anything pleasurable, such as food, and was now downright scared of them. To make it worse, he had the personality of a one-person horse if humans were ever something he could be okay with. Strider is now dangerous to anyone and everyone he isn’t close to. In layman’s terms, any human-like creature except Sasha.

Mistreatment caused Strider to become very fearful. He’s very spooky and shies at nearly everything. This has also made him quite clingy to Sasha. It is not a rarity to see Sasha trying to shoo Strider away so he can breathe his own air and think. He never really calms down when Sasha has to go elsewhere to do whatever is needed, but he’s slowly learned to live with that as well. All in all, Strider isn’t a horse you exactly want to bother if you don’t have a firm clue of what’s going on.

History: Strider was the result of a prized thoroughbredXpercheron stallion getting loose in the pasture of a working mare. After eleven months a colt was born. No one knew what to do with the animal, but knowing that if he was bred with a full blooded warmblood they could get a very good riding horse, like his father. The strength and muscle of his legs from the draft horse while intertwined with the energy of a warmblood was something that was always prized in terrain the island possessed. With this in mind they realized they could sell him, which they did.

Strider was sold to a couple who was interested in him for breeding purposes. In the end, though, the stallion was badly mistreated by the woman, who was the one who spent most of her time with the horses, her husband being the one with the use for the animals as he transported messages between human settlements. Anyway, over time the once feisty colt became very fearful and he soon grew to a size that was simply dangerous for him to be such. This was when they had to sell him again, to a man who planned to use him as a work horse and for breeding. This was the same man who also thought he could train Sasha into being a nice worker around his farm.

Though this man was known to be very good with horses his approach simply didn’t work with an abuse case and only got himself into trouble more than once. Strider, who was now called Westie off his show name, wasn’t broke to ride, hardly lead on a halter and that was only if you managed to get close enough to get the halter on. The horse was seen as nothing but dangerous to anyone and everyone in the area, but his owner refused to give up from the start. That is until he was forced to. Strider was let out of his pasture the same day Sasha managed to escape. (rest in Sasha’s history)

((Bleh, I can't write apps for animals lol))
