Looking for some excitement « Thread Started on Sept 21, 2009, 1:14pm »
The sun was beating down from the sky illuminating the busy street bellow it which was filled with humans. Big humans, small humans. Round humans and some not so round. She watched them closely from the shade of her hiding place in the entrance to an alley. No one paid her any attention as several of the humans passed by her not even glancing at her; their eyes always forward. She had been watching one male human for a while he owned a stall where others came n bartered with him for his products - mainly fruit and various other foods - and noticed that some of the smaller humans tried to steal from him while he was bargaining with another. A few times they had been successful but most they were caught and had been made to pay for what they stole. The figure in the alley smiled at this - flashing her teeth at no one in particular - they would learn one day an effective way to do this but for now she had to show them how it was done.
Stepping out from the shade a woman stood with fair skin and odd markings on her arms that resembled that of a tiger. Then hearing a roaring noise coming from below, quickly glancing about she saw no animals the noise continued then she found the source. It was her stomach, placing a hand on it she stalked over to the stall and stared looking at the fruit with intention of “purchasing” something. The round man from behind the stall was by her side in an instance. “Hey there little lady, you thinking about buying one of these lovely apples?” He spoke with a kind manner as he picked up a bright red apple in his hand and offered it to her. She accepted the apple and started tossing it up and down, looking for imperfections, then turned to the stall owner. “Hmm … I would be but I don’t have any money,” she said in her well practised soft voice and looked at him with her bright green eyes. “I guess we’re both out of luck then little lady,” the round man said as he retreated behind his stall. With a look of disappointment on her face she turned round and walked down the street.
Once she was far enough away she raised the red apple to her mouth and bit into it. That was far too easy she thought as she continued to weave in and out of the odd humans none of them still taking any notice of her. Her highly tuned cat-like ears flickered underneath her hair as she picked up all the noises around her but nothing that wasn’t expected from a street that was far too crowded by humans.

"Come on Gwen, quit lagging!"
Aneira strode confidentally, casually, down the busy street. For all intents and purposes, she appeared human. Her tail was wound around her waist under her clothes, and a pair of dark sunglasses concealed the predatory gleam of her golden eyes. The cheap perfume she used to cover her scent stung her nose, but the scent of humans absolutely set her on edge.
Her snowy-skinned sibling, however, was not as lucky. The bright light that flooded the streets and shone off of every reflective surface during the day easily revealed the silvery rosettes that marked her skin and the slitted pupils in her cobalt eyes. The fluid, animal grace with which she carried herself would have betrayed her, even if her looks had not. Her disgise was simpler - a black leather collar with a metal plate inset into the leather. The plate read: 6-25.
The girl in question was surveying a bustling cart of fruit with a gleam in her eye that set Anne's teeth on edge. She grabbed her sibling's arm and dragged her along after her.
"Anne, what - ow..."
"Try to act more like a slave idiot!" She growled, and in a lower voice added. "We have to pull this off..."
Gwen rubbed the back of her head where Anne had smacked her, but she was still watching the cart, looking somewhere past it...
Anne grabbed Gwen's chin and yanked her into a glare unhindered by her sunglasses.
"Don't. Steal. Anything.
She released her grip and put her glasses back on.
Gwen nodded sharply, resisting the urge to salute, and relaxed into “submissive mode”- downcast eyes, blank face, and slouching posture. Even though the smile twitching at the corner of Gwen’s lips revealed otherwise, Anne had to force herself not to check that the little klepto hadn’t really shut down.
They started moving through the crowd again - more difficult now that yet another group of shoppers had floodeed the streets. Gwen's quiet lasted for all of ten seconds before...
"Anne, look!"
Gwen had dropped her masquerade, and now her line of sight pointed to a young woman, who was presently tricking a shop owner out of his wares. She swaggered off, looking smug as she bit into a shiny red apple. The girl’s scent was definitely cat.
"Classic." Gwen purred appreciatively.
“So what? Let’s go.”
Gwen was still staring after the girl, the mischievous gleam in her eye again.
“Aww… but I wanna play too.”
"This is not a game! In and out. That's the plan."
