License to Kill (Kiyo) « Thread Started on Feb 28, 2009, 3:52pm »
It was his first mission in some time. A contract to kill some creature he's never met, he knows nothing about, and he doesn't care to get to know. The monetary compensation was substantial, though he didn't need near the amount he received to survive on the island; he was generally self-sufficient. More than anything, the contract was something to do-- a game, if you will-- to keep him busy when he wasn't looking for food or shelter.
Badger pulled out the file, running his fingertips over the indents left by the pencil. "Large male humaniod. Carnivore. Fangs and claws. Name: unknown." After opening the folder, he pulled out what he knew to be a sketch of the creature. A lot of good this'll do me, he thought, tossing it carelessly to the ground. The rest of the papers contained little details about the creature collected by witnesses. Badger closed the file and returned it to his small bag. He tipped his hat downward and continued forward.
Jack was, as always, at his side as they both walked together through the forest. They had left the city some time ago with their job, and Badger figured the first place to start was the forest near the falls. The falls supplied needed drinking water, and the trees around it shelter. What chimera wouldn't want to live here? Badger himself wasn't completely unfamiliar with the land. He'd stayed here in this forest his first couple of months on the island.
Jack stopped abruptly, and Badger adjusted his grip on the harness bar. "Ti shto dalish?"("What are you doing?") his voice rang, echoing up through the canopy. The shepherd shifted his weight from one paw to the other and lowered his head to sniff the ground. Badger bent down and ran his hand over the print left in the soft dirt. It was about the right size, and fresh. "Panyatna."("I see.") He rose and pulled a bit on the harness bar. "Pa ijyom."("Let's go.")
------- Ooc: Hope that was okay. Sorry it's short. Left you room to do what you want as an intro.

Birds chirping in the background talking to one and another, he was used to that sound even though he had recently called this forest his new “home”. His head flickered about eyes always alert the sun filtering through the canopy illuminating his topaz coloured eyes. Once he knew the close was clear the chimera was on the forest floor with a light thud. Standing up straight, stretching out his wings before bringing them back in. His tail whipped through the air brushing against the trees and plants around him. Flicking his head to the side so his hair would stay out of his eyes he walked forward still very wary of his surroundings even though he knew nothing in this forest could bring him harm.
Then suddenly his ears twitched and he automatically turned to face the faint sound. His cat-like ears listening carefully to the distant, strange noise. He had came to the conclusion that it wasn’t the birds or the usual animals he would find around in these woods, it was something else. Straining his ears and leaning towards the far off sound he heard the voice of a human. Yet it wasn’t a language that he recognised. One human? That wouldn’t pose much threat. He thought to himself. Standing up straight from his position which he automatically took up. One which he had learned many years ago that allowed him to defend himself against an opponent. Relaxing he stretched his wings out, relaxing more and continued to walk forward.
He gave a deep heavy sigh, glancing at the canopy treetop above him little flecks of light fell onto the ground where he walked. It had been ages since he had a good fly, he longed to be up in the sky with the wind flowing past him and to be up flying with the other winged creatures, but now wasn’t the time. As he had more pressing things on his mind. Like if he was beinging followed by some strange speaking human, if not more.
Glancing over his shoulder a few times to check if he could he or see the foreign human behind him but as time went by he lost interest as he finally reached the falls. Stepping into the clearing he smiled. In the full light of the sun he looked as white as a ghost walking towards the water looking down and seeing his reflection. Looking up he scanned the towering rock face for the perfect spot to sit on. After a short moment he found it.With a few strong beats from his wings he was in the air hovering slightly but with a few more he was heading towards the cliff face. Within a short space of time he was sitting on a little ledge with the water falling beside him and the vast tree canopy ahead of him, the sun shining in the sky.It was the perfect lookout spot so he could see if he was being followed. It’s a nice day, might even be able to have a little fun. Were his last thought before he shut his eyes leaning back against the warm rock behind him, with a large grin on his face.
(( OOC: no worries it is probably better than anything I would of thought of ))

They stepped quietly, Jack leading them down the easiest paths that wound through the trees up to the falls. With the water crashing into the deep pool, it was hard for Badger to listen for the creature they were trailing. He was relying mostly on Jack, whose hearing was far superior to his. With a serious grimace on his face, Badger tugged on the bar that connected him and Jack as one, signaling a stop at what he remembered to be the edge of the clearing that opened up on the lake.
The roaring of water. He concentrated, knowing Jack was scanning the area with all of his senses. White noise. He felt Jack lower his stance. Badger pushed his sunglasses back up the bridge of his nose. The hard flapping of large wings was heard over the falls. Both him and his companion looked toward the sound.
Jack barked. He let it go, deciding not to correct Jack, knowing full well the creature probably knew they were there beforehand. Badger led them out into the sunlit clearing, stopping close to the water, not far from the creature. A low rumble filled Jack's throat, and a growl filled Bagder's ears. "Hush!" he hissed, making sure to speak in English, hoping the creature would feel less threatened if it saw Badger calm his fierce friend.
Badger looked back up toward the rocks where the noise of the wings had disappeared. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a silver flask. "Nice day for a drink!" he called to the creature, tipping his flask into his open mouth; he meant it both for the alcohol he drank and the water the creature no doubtedly came to induldge in. The reaction of the creature would be almost all he'd need to identify it as his prey or not.

You would have thought that his pale skin would be tanning or reddening slightly in the sun but yet Kiyo still looked like a ghost as he sat on his perch at the falls. Even though the water beside him was creating a roaring in his ears he still managed to hear a faint bark of a nearby animal. Lifting his head from the rock and looking down to the forest edge scanning carefully but yet he could see nothing. About to rest his head against the now warm rock once more he say a figure step out of the tree line. The human didn’t look to threatening, the only problem that might arouse would be his canine companion. Looking closely he saw the figure clutch on to the canine with a harness. That’s odd. He thought as he watched the human and canine walk to the waters edge as one.
Then when the human spoke that took him by surprise as it was in english and not the strange one he had heard earlier on. Maybe this is a different human from the one I heard before cause I didn’t hear the canine. Standing up from his perch he looked out over the canopy of trees. Then with a few beats from his wings he was airborne and few over the canopy scanning the forest floor for anymore signs of humans around. Then landing in a small area that was clear of trees he looked more closely. After a while he found tracks and right enough they were two sets, one canine and one human. He followed the tracks and they lead towards the clearing where the human was now standing. So there is only one human. He thought before walking off into the forest again he appeared in the clearing a few moments later but he made sure that he was far enough away from the human and his canine to make his escape.
“Yeah, I guess it is.”
Kiyo finally replied to the humans words as he walked over to the waters edge and scooped up some water with his hands. He then took another always keeping his eye on the strange human and his “pet”. He then stood and turned to face the human. Brushing his hair out of his eyes so he could see clearly and he took a few steps forward.
“So what brings you here then?”
He tried to keep the tone of his voice to one that wouldn’t scare off the human before he had to. While waiting for the reply he analysed the human further. He wore a hat and a long coat, that he found odd because of the heat coming off the bright sun in the sky. Looking closely to his face he automatically saw the glasses that he could understand for the same reasons caused by the sun. Then looking down he saw the canine obediently standing beside its master with a harness on which was being held by the human. As far as Kiyo could tell the threat still remained with the canine as he couldn’t spot any weapons on the human yet he still chose to keep his guard just in case.
The way the human and canine acted together was strange as well Kiyo noted. At this rate he would have a list of things about the human before he even spoke his first words directly to him. Stretching his wings once more with his tail close to his body, not swinging about as I usually would he kept a close eye one the duo before him not knowing what they would do next.
