Miles away from civilization, long since abandoned by the sane-minded humans of the present day, is the small islande sanctuary of Dumak Devia. Once known as the world's leading science research facilities, Dumak Devia has now been lost and forgotten by people for over one hundred years. Why did Dumak Devia become abandoned, deemed inhabitual, all those years ago?
Dumak Devia, in nutshell, is a fictional island created as a base location for a series called "Island Paradise". It was originally explored in the late 20th century but was established in 2005 by Ethan J. Malinowski. Measuring no larger than a small State in size, Dumak Devia was an island of hopes and dreams, one day thought to be the next Utopia of the new world. Originally escavated to make way for a new science sector of gene and genetics research, the prospect of Dumak Devia was abandoned and all industries slowed to bare minimums. Though 100 years have passed since the establishing of the island and settlements, now the year approximately 2110, residents still conduct life as anyone would normally [in the year 2005].
Environmentally, the island is home to a number of inhabitants from all corners of the globes and houses some of the most remote and last remaining rain forests on the planet. It's climate extremities have contributed to the vast variety of plant life and animal life able to be supported upon it's landmass and within its boundaries. Native animals are sparse, but the diversity brought in by man has given Dumak Devia it's infamous sanctuary status: Some of the most endangered species from all over the world can be found inhabiting the forests, plains, deserts, and mountains of the island.
Along with the human and condensed wildlife inhabiting the island, the science sector created an additional life form which has long since taken over the just of the island and given new life, problems, and diversity to the island regions. The chimera kind, neither human nor animal, flee from the science fed population of humans who created them, locking the remaining island dwellers in a constant conflict between "man and his creations".
The island of Dumak Devia found itself flourishing, growing both in permanent residential population as well as in tourism. From the southern Dezore Shores to the capitol city of Torsha Devia, the island's future seemed promising to those who inhabited it's lands. The prime industry upon the island was animal sciences where the peek of the economy revolved around the zoo-like attractions of the DNARaD (DNA Research & Development) Facility Animal Park, on the South borders of Torsha Devia.
Tourists gathered from all around the world at this zoo-like park to view what the science world of the Isle had to offer their onlooking eyes. Within its enclosures, DNARaD held the most peculiar of creatures, the most unusual and profound of interspecies offspring the new age had seen: Beyond those bars and glass of each individually suitable enclosure stood the results of years of experiments and DNA testing: The Chimeras.
Neither human nor animal, these chimeras stood. As the crowds gathered to view the extraordinary feet in human science, these new beings' journey had just began, and little to their knowledge and the knowledge of those who held them within the enclosures, these chimeras would one day be free to either find peace amongst their human counterparts or take to the wild like their animal ancestry.
Shortly after the opening of the Animal Genes Park, something happened which no one could have expected. Without warning and without detection, one of the Chimeras, managed an escape. Once beyond the walls of the facilities, she released the locks, freeing the chimeras from the enclosures, releasing them into the wild of Dumak Devia...
Now...
One hundred years later, the island has gone inhabitable. The chimeras have scared away most humans, attacking them and driving them form the island. Though some still remain, the humans now cluster in the north eastern most part of the island, protecting what few children have been born and protecting the now diminishing cities.
The chimeras have taken over the lands to the west, thriving amongst the hidden cities beneath the land while striving to keep the humans at bay and way from their territory.
Health and Education, in human territory, on the island are standard, however it is degrading as more years pass and human population becomes more disperse and sparse. Transportation and importing/exporting is at the bare minimums and traffic off the island is hardly considered enough. Even so, the human population manages to survive comfortably within the city limits with few factories still standing as well as produce and meats readily available from the remaining agricultural plots.
In the making of the chimeras, one hundred years ago, animals had been imported from the far reaches of the globe. Now these have taken over the most part of the island, from lions to tiger to wolves and apes. Animals of all shapes and sized now flourish on the land and have steadily increased in numbers.
It is up to you to determine the fate of the Chimera, Humans, and Animals upon Dumak Devia. Go now and seek friends, foes, and family.
